Description

NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • Darrow returns as Pierce Brown’s New York Times bestselling Red Rising series continues in the thrilling sequel to Dark Age.

The Reaper is a legend, more myth than man: the savior of worlds, the leader of the Rising, the breaker of chains.

But the Reaper is also Darrow, born of the red soil of Mars: a husband, a father, a friend.

Marooned far from home after a devastating defeat on the battlefields of Mercury, Darrow longs to return to his wife and sovereign, Virginia, to defend Mars from its bloodthirsty would-be conqueror Lysander.

Lysander longs to destroy the Rising and restore the supremacy of Gold, and will raze the worlds to realize his ambitions.

The worlds once needed the Reaper. But now they need Darrow, and Darrow needs the people he loves—Virginia, Cassius, Sevro—in order to defend the Republic.

So begins Darrow’s long voyage home, an interplanetary adventure where old friends will reunite, new alliances will be forged, and rivals will clash on the battlefield.

Because Eo’s dream is still alive—and after the dark age will come a new age: of light, of victory, of hope.

  • Outstanding series

We all like the stories from our youth, just like music. The Red Rising series captivated me like Star Wars and Lord of the Rings. The style of storytelling and the internal conflicts of good, evil and evil for perceived good was thought provoking. The history references, mythology and astronomy had me looking up things in the middle of chapters. Looking forward to Red God!

Absolutely amazing. As always this book was a rollercoaster that you don't want to get off. Can't wait for more joy and pain in Red God
  • Good but underwhelms compared to the rest of the series

Good, but predictable with an unsatisfying ending. While reading the second trilogy, especially the last two, I felt Fa was an underdeveloped villain. More boogeyman than Darth Vader. The writing style also makes the finals turns of events rather predictable. Despite that, really enjoyed it. Where is book 7?!

The first book of the series was very enjoyable and well written! It all went downhill from there. Each book continued to be harder to read with the last book being hard to finish it was so bad.

This book made me fall in love with reading again. I found myself lost for hours and hours in this rich story. I even dreamed of this vibrant world. This book will stay with me forever! Thank you for the emotional journey
